Quick Namechange

never liked being known as Zerombr, so I shortened it.  saves me some trouble of telling folks to call me Zero...then again, maybe I should use the title given.  What do you think?

  1. You'll always be zero to me. Name-wise, I mean.

  2. Zero's fine by me, I guess. Fortunately I've had the foresight to shorten my name to simply "Grey". And no, I do not watch Grey's Anatomy. I wish people would stop copying my name...

  3. Always called you Zero(Sage), because I trip over the pronunciation of "zerombr" even in my head.

  4. well it was Zero then my initials, you see. I did find out that Zerombr is used in Linux though

  5. Who knows, maybe Zero is the Hero.
Zero (Hero), seems fitting. Reminds me of that old Disney Hercules song...

  6. Wait, should we be worried? I went back and realized that it was your initials you dropped. Am I being paranoid, or are you subconsciously distancing yourself from... well, from yourself?

  7. @Nessa - Could be a simple survival mechanic. If someone was determined enough, that might be all they need to get a list of possible people he could be and, well, deadhead knocking at the door at 3 am with a crowbar and the intent to take out a potential (Hero), all that lovely bullshit.

  8. I don't think it's anything to be worried about, Nessa. He said he never liked being known as Zerombr (which sounds like "zombie" in my mind). Probably nothing to worry about, but that doesn't mean that he shouldn't be watched at least a little closely.

Hmm... off topic here, I've picked up a pair of 6-sided dice recently, and have been rolling an unusual amount of sixes and sevens. Other numbers too, but enough so that it's been noticed. Sigh... too bad I don't know anyone who's willing to gamble with me. I don't know, just thought I'd bring up that part of my recent life out of bullshucks-nowhere. This place just seemed like the place to do it I suppose.

  9. @Zero - Zero it is, eh? As for the title, I wear mine with pride. And sometimes the (Sage) title, too.

@Grey - as to your psionics, I remain skeptic and recommend UXTREME caution. I've seen a couple failed attempts and not "it didn't work" failed, but "it backfired" failed.
Also, pertaining to your luck with dice and psionics you should try playing Liar's Dice. I fucking love that game (I think you can actually play that online in Red Dead Redemption, but nothing beats looking at the faces of your oponnents.

  10. @Gates - I hate to discourage anyone, but I don't think I'm cut out for Hero work. I think it takes a pure heart, and well, I sort of nixed that this week.

@Nessa - Nope, that's not paranoia, it's just bugged me. Remember, I didn't expect to join this fray at first, I just registered to be able to make comments on others, to suggest tactics. Then Jay mentioned 'Zero', and I fell into the mix.....who was he talking about?

@Grey - I can near consistently roll 10s with 2d6, pisses people off in Risk, my favorite game. But it comes and goes, I'm like Mat Cauthon over here.

  11. @Grey unless you can create ectoplasm, I think psionics will probably let him get to you easier. Its a language he speaks after all. Telekinesis, astral travel, pyrokinesis, telepathy....

  12. Hey, I love Risk too. And also piss people off with my strings of high rolls when I've only got one army fighting against their 20+.

Have you tried seeing if your recent actions have affected your luck in any way? Or do you still have the ability to get the high rolls?

  13. I haven't played it recently, at least as board game. I have distanced myself from my friends lately, to help keep them under the radar. I still visit conquerclub.com to play, helps relieve stress. Haven't tested my luck recently....well aside from not dying.

  14. Rika's after you, Zero. Becareful.

  15. To Zero: I wasn't suggesting that I try to communicate with him, but to assault him mentally. As a construct himself, he might actually be affected by others' psionic constructs. However, even though he was created by us he might not be... compatible?

To Omega: I do not believe I've done anything special to cause this. There is something odd that I've noticed about this though, which is that it seems to wear off after I've rolled the dice a couple of times, and I get the two numbers less the more I roll. Also, the counter or whatever it is seems to reset after a day and I will start to get more sixes and sevens again. I wonder if it's the dice? I haven't tried any others yet. Maybe I should...

I was wondering if I should make a blog of my own, so I have a place to host my speculations other than in the comment as section of various blog posts by other persons. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it should contain?

  16. @Grey Just saying that opening yourself up to such things might mean problems. I really have no personal experience with astral combat, i must say.

Three weeks ago, I'd have never expected to type that sentence.

  17. Zeke Fucking Strahm just talked to me on M's Tutorial.

    Hard Core.

Apologies for the F Bomb, but he's the one that started the Gen-2 Slenderblogs. To me that's a big deal.

  18. Zero, I like the pair-a-dice in your avatar.
    Lame pun's are lame.

  19. Hahaha! I would have never noticed that, Maduin.

  20. Heh. Strange, I've never read's Zeke's stuff. Wasn't it called Seeking Truth? I suppose I'll look for it, going to be archive-binging for a while. Fun.

  21. Don't drink mysterious substances if you don't knwo where or who they're from next time, Zero. I'm glad what you did worked, but hey. Even us risk takers gotta know when to take it easy sometimes.

I may be in Indiana on my journey to M, so if I'm near you, I'll let you know. Though I'm not sure where that would be.

    Peace out,
    Shaun.

  22. Alright, I promise I'll at least keep people in the loop the next time I take a gamble with my life. Honestly, I'm glad I did it, even though I'm starting to wonder if my body'll ever recover fully. Still pretty hard to see at times. Feh.

oh, and I *did* know who it was from, Shaun. Greenlight explained it all on B's blog. I just didn't expect such....severe reactions.

Anytime is fine Shaun, especially given how cold it's been lately.

  23. Goddamn if it isn't colder than a witch's tit in a snow bank lately.

Sorry, old habits die hard. That phrase comes from my mother.

As for Greenlight, I'm interested to see if he will contact me at all. He already did through email at one point. What did he say on B's blog exactly? This is all becoming very overwhelming...

    Peace out,
    Shaun.

  24. @Grey Rolling sixes and sevens isn't too surprising, considering that, statistically, they're two of the most frequent numbers to pop up. Rolling two dice isn't like rolling one. The statistics are a bit off. Rolling the highest probabilities isn't anything to get worried/excited about.
